Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Laboratory Technician II to join our research team. This role involves complex laboratory experiments, primarily in molecular biology and rodent-based studies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PCR, genotyping, animal handling, and surgical techniques, as well as strong organizational and data management skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform molecular biology techniques, including PCR, genotyping, gel electrophoresis, and tissue slicing using cryostat or vibratome
  • Handle rodents (mice and rats) for procedures such as SC/IP injections, sham surgeries, husbandry, and placement of intravenous catheters and vascular access ports
  • Coordinate and execute studies involving self-administration and telemetry
  • Prepare drug solutions and calculate dosages for experiments
  • Organize schedules and collaborate with lab members to maximize efficiency
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and verify data entry
  • Manage lab operations, including ordering supplies and maintaining equipment
  • Collect and analyze data using relevant software packages
  • Ensure compliance with protocols and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Zoology, or other related science, or high school diploma with four years of experience in research, pharmaceutical, or clinical laboratories
