The postholder will work in a multidisciplinary project aiming to understanding the role of D-arabinanases in mycobacterial physiology and pathogenicity as part of a Wellcome Trust-funded programme grant. This will involve in-depth biochemical, molecular, genetic and cell biological analysis of the D-arabinanases, leading to the discovery of mycobacterial interactions with other bacteria and host cells.
Job Responsibility:
Work in a multidisciplinary project aiming to understand the role of D-arabinanases in mycobacterial physiology and pathogenicity
Conduct in-depth biochemical, molecular, genetic and cell biological analysis of the D-arabinanases
Lead to the discovery of mycobacterial interactions with other bacteria and host cells
Requirements:
Postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic
Relevant experience in microbiology and molecular biology techniques
Proven ability to work independently
Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team
Proven ability to meet research deadlines
