The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is recruiting an experienced Research Fellow to join Chris Drakeley’s group in the Department of Infection Biology (DIB) and the Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases. The post is fixed term until 08 September 2028 and full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE. The post is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is available from March 2026.
Job Responsibility:
Support the development and deployment of multi-disease sero-surveillance assays with technical refinement, quality control, and training of collaborating partners
Requirements:
Postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic such as biology, immunology or diagnostic
Relevant experience and expertise in laboratory and/or diagnostic assay development, particularly in serological and multiplex assays in malaria, vaccine preventable or other infectious diseases
Experience in developing SOPs and managing laboratory projects
Experience organising and facilitating international transfers of consumables and specifics
Willingness and ability to travel outside the UK several times a year
Nice to have:
Experience in recombinant protein production and purification
