The Research Fellow in Timber Design and Products is a continuing contingent funding full-time role, working on securing and completing projects funded through Australian Forest and Wood Innovations (AFWI) and other sources. Applications are invited from individuals with research interests in timber and other renewable built materials, timber and wood’s performance in products, in building design and engineering, and in the built environment more generally. The successful applicant will contribute to the research activities of the Centre and the School.
Job Responsibility:
Undertake high-quality research of national and international standing
Secure external competitive and other funding, publish research findings
Contribute to the successful supervision of research higher degree students
Foster the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline
Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities
Requirements:
An established record of framing and completing nationally or internationally recognised research
Demonstrated ability to productively contribute to a multidisciplinary collaborative research team and to support and supervise research and technical staff
A record of contributing to quality publications and research communication, such as presentations at conferences, workshops and field days
Proven capacity to secure external competitive and other funding
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills to develop productive relationships with the discipline, profession, industry, and wider community
