At the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), we are committed to achieving innovative, ground-breaking health and medical research that fundamentally improves the quality of life for all people. About the role: SAHMRI is seeking a Research Associate / Research Fellow (mathematical /statistical modelling) to join the Health Policy Centre as part of a new partnership with Preventive Health SA. This position will develop and apply stochastic simulation models to inform public health policy decision-making. The primary focus will be modelling the health and economic impacts of prevention strategies, particularly interventions aimed at reducing preventable chronic disease-related hospital admissions (for example, diabetes-related complications). The outputs of this work will directly inform South Australian Government policy, and will be translated into high-quality briefings, reports, and peer-reviewed publications. You will join a multidisciplinary team of behavioural scientists, policy experts and researchers working on population-level public health challenges, with a strong focus on dietary risk and obesity prevention. This is a single full-time position that may be appointed at either Research Associate or Research Fellow level, depending on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
