We seek a post-doctoral research scientist to work on a project, funded by the Medical Research Council, to study the regulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome. NLRP3-dependent inflammation is implicated in disease and through understanding the fundamental mechanisms of its regulation we hope to identify new ways of targeting inflammation. The successful candidate will join the lab of Prof. David Brough and work closely alongside the labs of Prof. Martin Lowe and Prof. Kevin Couper based in FBMH.
Job Responsibility:
Study the regulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome
Understanding the fundamental mechanisms of its regulation to identify new ways of targeting inflammation
Requirements:
PhD with a strong background in cell biology, immunology and, ideally, neuroscience
Excellent technical skills in cell and molecular biology, microscopy, flow cytometry
Experience of working with murine models, preferably models of inflammation
