Job Description

The Research Assistant will undertake a variety of minor tasks and clerical duties related to work in the Planning, Properties, and Permits division, in particular supporting the delivery and implementation of the Development Approvals Process Review (DAPR) project work plan.

Job Responsibility

  • Research municipal land use approval and permitting processes in other jurisdictions across Canada
  • Document and analyse information and findings to transform into useful insights
  • Synthesise summary memos and reports to internal audiences to communicate the research findings
  • Attend regular team meetings, and participate in activities as appropriate, including adapting to team feedback and meeting deadlines
  • Cooperate and collaborate with interdepartmental working groups involved in the project

Requirements

  • Be between the age of 15 and 30 years of age and be legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid SIN, be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act)
  • Not hold another full-time (30 or more hours) summer job
  • Completion of the 12th school grade supplemented by courses in drafting, graphics, commercial art or related courses at a technical institution or community college plus sound related experience in a planning or architectural office, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
