Research Assistant II- Endocrinology

• Maintain multiple mouse colonies including breeding, genotyping, with accurate records
• Maintain records of experimental methodologies and results in a log of work performed
• Work with PI and independently to design and perform experiments
• Perform a variety of routine laboratory experiments and procedures, utilizing standard laboratory equipment, recording and analyzing outcomes
• Mouse necropsy and tissue processing
• Mouse tissue histological analysis using light microscopy, immunofluorescence, RNA in situ hybridization
• ELISA, RIA, qRTPCR
• Maintain equipment, lab area and supplies in a neat manner
• Process orders for supplies and animals
• Assist PI to write and amend animal protocols
• Collaborate with other members of the Majzoub lab and with other laboratories in the Endocrinology department

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, neuroscience, or related field
• At least 1 year experience managing laboratory mouse colonies
• Preferred experience with PCR, ELISA, RIA, immunocytochemistry, RNAscope
• Good problem-solving skills and independent work ability
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
