Job Responsibility:

  • Perform a variety of routine laboratory experiments and procedures
  • Assist in troubleshooting procedures
  • Maintain records of results and methodologies
  • Maintain equipment, lab area, and supplies
  • Sterilize and clean glassware, and prepare media and other materials
  • Inventory supplies
  • Process orders for supplies and/or animals
  • Attend courses in safety procedures
  • Carry out all laboratory activities in compliance with regulations
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews
  • Attend courses, lectures, and conferences
  • Contribute to the team
  • Work collaboratively with other investigators on key projects
  • Analyze, interpret and communicate results at lab meetings
  • Spend 25% of time on lab management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related field
  • At least one year of research experience outside of coursework
  • Proficient in at least 2-3 wet lab techniques (e.g. Western blotting, cloning, FACS, QPCR)
  • Comfortable working with mice
  • Willingness to make a two-year commitment
