Position Summary/ Department Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant to join the Pui Lee Laboratory at the Division of Immunology, Boston Children’s Hospital. Our lab is focused on basic and translational research related to mechanisms of autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases. We use cutting-edge techniques in immunology, transcriptomics, molecular biology and biochemistry to study monogenic and polygenic causes of inflammation. We perform in-depth studies on cell lines, animal models and samples from patients.
Job Responsibility:
Human sample collection & processing
Mouse sample collection & processing
Mouse colony management
Nucleic acid extraction
In vitro experiments
Data management
Perform routine laboratory experiments and procedures
Assist in troubleshooting procedures
Maintain records of results and methodologies
Maintain equipment, lab area, and supplies
Sterilize and clean glassware
Prepare media and other materials
Inventory supplies
Process orders for supplies and/or animals
Attend safety procedure courses
Carry out laboratory activities in compliance with applicable regulations and protocols
Requirements:
A Bachelors degree in STEM or Psychology is required
Prior Lab experience is preferred
Experience working with rodents is preferred
Skills in bioinformatics are preferred
