According to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules, performs a variety of routine laboratory experiments and procedures, utilizing standard laboratory equipment, recording and checking results for completeness and accuracy. Assists in troubleshooting procedures if experimental results are unexpected or quality of specimens is poor. Performs the following techniques typically required for the laboratory/study: Maintains records of results and methodologies in a log of work performed. Maintains equipment, lab area, and supplies in a neat professional manner. Sterilize and clean glassware,and prepare media and other materials using appropriate procedures. Inventories supplies, alerts supervisor to needed supplies, or mixes standard reagents. Processes order for supplies and/or animals. General Summary Works closely with clinicians and researchers to employ AI based technologies into cardiovascular harish projects by providing end-to-end technical solutions. Designs, develops, deploys, and maintains software applications, dashboards, and data tools that enable investigators to collect, manage, analyze, and visualize clinical research data. Applies strong technical skills and sound judgment — leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools where appropriate — to translate research questions into reliable, well-documented applications.
Job Responsibility:
Partner with clinical, administrative, and research stakeholders to understand project goals, gather requirements, and translate them into technical solutions, including diagrams, prototypes, and working applications
Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, while reviewing, testing, and refining generated code to ensure quality, correctness, and maintainability
Organize and facilitate meetings with project stakeholders to align on scope, priorities, and timelines, and to communicate progress and tradeoffs
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications — including web interfaces, dashboards, and data pipelines — that support the goals of multiple concurrent research projects
Build and maintain research datasets, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and appropriate handling of sensitive clinical information
Provide ongoing support for deployed applications, including monitoring, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing enhancements based on user feedback
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, data science, or a related field
Proficient use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate coding, with the judgment to review, test, debug, and maintain AI-generated code responsibly
Working proficiency in Python (or similar languages) and SQL
familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for building dashboards and web interfaces
Familiarity with building visualizations and dashboards (e.g. Shiny, Streamlit or similar)
Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic software engineering practices (testing, documentation)
Experience with REDCap or similar clinical research data platforms is preferred
Experience working with large data sets is a plus
Ability to understand clinical and cardiovascular terminology, or demonstrated ability to learn it quickly
Prior research experience (undergraduate thesis, lab work, or internships in a clinical or biomedical setting) is preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bridge medical and technical audiences
Attention to detail and ability to work independently on evolving problems in a research environment
Nice to have:
Experience with REDCap or similar clinical research data platforms is preferred
Experience working with large data sets is a plus
Prior research experience (undergraduate thesis, lab work, or internships in a clinical or biomedical setting) is preferred
