Job Description

Develops and implements thermal and mechanical engineering solutions. Analyses components and system performance to optimize hardware functionalities and reliability. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to innovate and improve product designs.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop and detail both innovative new lighting product concepts and next gen iterations
  • Support Engineer-to-Order (ETO) activities by developing customised product solutions for project-specific applications
  • Produce accurate engineering documentation including CAD drawings, manufacturing files, specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ensure developed products meet their design intent, compliance requirements, manufacturability and cost targets
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support prototyping, testing, validation and product industrialisation activities
  • Achieve agreed project schedules, timelines and deliverables
  • Actively contribute to the operation and continuous improvement of the 3D print farm, rapid prototyping equipment and production facility
  • Participate in product testing, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with our globally based engineers and cross-functional teams while adhering to company policies, procedures and systems
  • Support product compliance activities in line with ANZ standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to remain current with industry trends, technologies and regulatory changes
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to Signify's Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar engineering or product development role
  • Experience with Hands-on Luminaire Design is a must
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and associated CAD/modelling software
  • Familiarity with ANZ (Australia & New Zealand) lighting standards and luminaire compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of LED systems, electronics and lighting control protocols
  • Experience with prototyping, 3D printing and manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
