Job Description:

As a Requirement & Design Engineer at IKEA Components, you will work with a team of engineers responsible for the design and requirements of a specific range of components. The role involves taking designs from concept to optimization, ensuring accuracy of PLM system information, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve the existing range of products.

Job Responsibility:

Responsible for the design and requirements of one specific range of components
take design from ideation through concept generation, development, and optimization
deliver ready-to-use solutions fully verified through simulations and testing
maintain and secure that the information in the PLM system is up to date and accurate
work with improvements of the existing range by proactively searching for opportunities to challenge known patterns
work in close collaboration with the team and different stakeholders across the organisation

Requirements:

Studied mechanical engineering or equivalent
experience in working with product development
knowledge in different materials such as polymers, steel, and/or wood
knowledge in different production methods
skills in SolidWorks or other CAD software
basic knowledge in PLM systems
elementary knowledge with strength calculations (FEA)
ability to speak and write in English
