The Reporting and Analytics Specialist supports data-driven decision-making across the Mental, Behavioral, and Developmental Services Institute at Rady Children’s Health by developing and maintaining high-impact reporting and analytics solutions. This role requires strong familiarity with clinical workflows, data structures, and analytic tools to respond to evolving departmental needs. The hybrid position includes weekly on-site collaboration and offers an opportunity to deliver insights that enhance quality, operational effectiveness, and pediatric health outcomes throughout the region.
Job Responsibility
Supports data-driven decision-making across the Mental, Behavioral, and Developmental Services Institute by developing and maintaining high-impact reporting and analytics solutions
Under the direction of the Manager of Data Services, responsible for analysis, development, modification, general maintenance and validation of Hospital reports, data extracts and data visualizations
Works directly with functional clients, physicians and managers to collect report and/or data extract requirements
Provides business application support and training to help interpret data in Epic EMR, advanced SQL techniques, and other common reporting tools
Collaborates with functional and technical staff on data architecture issues and changes to Clarity data fields and business processes
Acts as a lead analyst, providing guidance and coaching to other team analysts
Provides direction and insight to new technology and data gathering tools
Collaborates with Information System Programmer Analysts, Managers, and Technical Specialists in functional departments and Data Governance Committee
Develops reports and/or data extracts using advanced tools including BOE Crystal, Reporting Workbench, Radar, Excel, Visual design tools such as Qlik
Serves as liaison to Database Administrators and Information Systems staff for large data uploads
Responsible for overall data quality and develops/executes unit test and validation procedures
Requirements
H.S. Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
2 years of experience or related experience/training/education i.e. healthcare analytics, clinical informatics, information systems, statistics, computer science
