Job Description

This is a senior-level individual contributor role for an experienced professional with a background in the mortgage and retail banking industry. The primary objective is to leverage expertise in SAS and/or Python to develop and maintain Management Information Systems (MIS), create insightful visualizations, and support regulatory deliverables for our Risk or Marketing teams. This individual will be a subject matter expert in mortgage industry MIS and will be responsible for providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop, and maintain MIS reports and dashboards using SAS and/or Python to track key performance indicators and provide insights into business trends
  • Perform in-depth data analysis and create compelling visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Apply deep knowledge of the mortgage industry, including MIS and regulatory requirements, to ensure the accuracy and relevance of our reporting and analysis
  • Support the delivery of regulatory reports and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Proactively identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Risk or Marketing teams
  • Work as a high-performing individual contributor, taking ownership of projects and delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as an individual contributor in a major bank, working within Risk or Marketing teams with a focus on the mortgage and/or retail/commercial banking industry
  • Expertise in SAS or Python for data analysis, MIS, and visualization
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Experience with visualization libraries in Python (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn) or other visualization tools is a plus
  • Deep understanding of the mortgage industry, including key metrics, MIS, and regulatory deliverables
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
  • A strong analytical mindset and a passion for working with data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis to a non-technical audience
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Statistics is required

Experience with visualization libraries in Python (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn) or other visualization tools is a plus
