FundFire, part of the Financial Times, is recruiting a talented, motivated journalist to take on our endowments, foundations and investment consultants beat. This is an opportunity to join an established and respected publication at a stable and profitable firm, and help us expand the depth of our coverage for the audiences we serve.
Job Responsibility:
Report and write at least three stories per week for our daily newsletter
Develop a network of sources to generate scoops and story ideas
Contribute to all storytelling formats, including videos, features, webcasts, and where appropriate, graphics and other visualizations
Attend industry events and meet with sources to stay on top of the latest industry trends (including virtual events)
Follow the money and report on how large and influential institutional investors are putting their assets to work
Cover how university endowments are navigating a fraught environment
Write about trends around how charitable foundations are investing their pools of assets
Write about how institutional consultants are shaping the investment decisions of the biggest institutional investors
Requirements:
Experience covering a newsroom beat, preferably on a daily deadline
Strong ability to generate and pitch ideas
Demonstrated ability to develop sources
A track record of working successfully as part of a team
Attention to detail and ability to produce well-written, accurate content
Strong journalistic ethics and knowledge of newswriting fundamentals
