Job Description

As a Major Component Exchange/Repair Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of specialized wind turbine repair and optimization. Traveling to sites across the region, you’ll lead or support major component exchanges – ensuring minimal downtime and peak turbine performance. With your previous experience in wind energy, you’ll bring precision and expertise to every gearbox, generator, and retrofit you touch. Your work helps keep turbines turning and communities powered.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure safety including Risk Assessment, Protective Measures, Compliance
  • Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems
  • Execute maintenance, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects following established procedures
  • Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple platforms and site conditions
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure a secure working environment

Requirements

  • Prioritize safety above all else
  • Preferred wind turbine experience with hands-on MCE work
  • Minimum one year of wind technician experience, or six months wind technician experience with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and executing major repairs on various platforms
  • Comfortable with 100% travel and working in varied site conditions
  • A collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex challenges
  • Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights
  • Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • High school diploma (or equivalent), valid driver's license, legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for current or future sponsorship
