Job Description

We are looking for a Rental Assistance Program Manager to lead community engagement efforts that connect residents with housing-related resources and support services in California. This contract position with potential for a permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong administrative discipline with a hands-on approach to outreach, relationship building, and client support. The person in this role will work closely with community partners, internal teams, and prospective clients to expand program awareness, strengthen local connections, and help drive meaningful participation.

Job Responsibility

  • Create and carry out outreach plans that increase awareness of rental assistance services and encourage community participation
  • Establish productive relationships with neighborhood groups, service providers, local businesses, and public agencies to expand referral networks and collaboration opportunities
  • Represent the organization at events, information sessions, and workshops, delivering clear presentations that promote available programs and services
  • Monitor outreach efforts by maintaining accurate activity records, assessing results, and preparing updates and reports for leadership review
  • Contribute to the development of communication materials such as flyers, newsletters, and presentation content to support public engagement
  • Serve as a point of contact for questions from clients, volunteers, and partner organizations, providing timely and thoughtful responses
  • Conduct direct outreach with new and existing clients, including traveling within the local service area to meet individuals near their residences when needed
  • Partner with internal staff to ensure outreach priorities support broader program goals and operational needs
  • Provide guidance and coaching to colleagues or direct reports when needed to improve performance, accountability, and service delivery

Requirements

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is required
  • Strong administrative skills with the ability to stay organized, manage deadlines, and maintain accountability across multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated success in solving problems and making sound decisions in a fast-paced service environment
  • Experience coaching, redirecting, or supporting team members to improve performance and meet expectations
  • Ability to travel locally within San Francisco, California to conduct in-person outreach with clients
  • Background in property management, residential leasing, or housing-related program administration is preferred
  • Familiarity with Yardi software and property or client record systems is an advantage
