Job Description:

A Rental Asset Manager plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency, maximizing asset profitability, and ensuring the company maintains a strategic, well‑balanced fleet. By optimizing asset utilization, overseeing lifecycle performance, and aligning equipment availability with business demand, this role directly enhances revenue growth, cost control, and customer satisfaction. The Rental Asset Manager serves as a key partner across operations, sales, and leadership—supporting smarter decisions, reducing downtime, and strengthening the company’s overall competitive position.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the end‑to‑end rental equipment supply chain, ensuring the right assets are sourced, delivered, and available to operations
  • Coordinate with operations, procurement, and field teams to anticipate and fulfill equipment requirements
  • Identify, evaluate, and cultivate strong relationships with key equipment rental suppliers
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all rental vendors
  • Monitor vendor performance, responsiveness, and service quality
  • develop a preferred supplier list
  • Negotiate rental rates, commercial terms, service levels, and contract durations
  • Ensure compliance with Atlas Energy Solutions’ procurement standards and legal requirements
  • Track contract expirations, renewals, and renegotiation opportunities
  • Maintain meticulous records of all rental equipment on site, including physical verification and documentation
  • Check‑In / Check‑Out Management
  • Ensure proper documentation for all inbound and outbound rental equipment
  • Oversee physical inspections at arrival and departure
  • Damage Tracking & Reporting
  • Document damages, coordinate supplier communication, and oversee repairs or claims
  • Repair Coordination
  • Work with suppliers to schedule repairs and minimize downtime
  • Track repair timelines and associated costs
  • Cost Tracking & Billing Reconciliation
  • Track rental costs daily/weekly to ensure accurate billing
  • Verify invoices against contracted terms and actual field utilization
  • Work with finance/AP to resolve discrepancies
  • Analyze fleet utilization trends to minimize unnecessary rentals and reduce idle assets
  • Recommend equipment returns, replacements, or redeployments to improve operational efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to transition frequently rented categories into owned assets when appropriate
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure rental equipment meets safety, performance, and reliability expectations
  • Provide regular reporting on rental costs, utilization, vendor performance, and optimization opportunities
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to rental expenses
  • Ensure all rental equipment meets Atlas Energy Solutions’ safety and compliance requirements
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records for audits, insurance claims, and internal reviews
  • Implement and improve standardized rental processes and SOPs
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in rental sourcing, tracking, cost control, and vendor management
  • Leverage data and KPIs to drive decision‑making and process optimization
  • Benchmark best‑in‑class rental management practices and apply them within the organization

Requirements:

  • 3–7 years experience in equipment rental management, supply chain, oil & gas operations, or related field
  • Strong negotiation and vendor‑management skills
  • Excellent organizational and documentation capabilities
  • Ability to interpret contracts, invoices, and operational data
  • Proficiency with equipment tracking systems, spreadsheets, and ERP tools
  • Experience in energy, mining, construction, logistics, or industrial operations
  • Knowledge of cost‑tracking methodologies and fleet optimization strategies
