Job Description

An established and expanding specialist insurer is looking to appoint an experienced Renewals PI Underwriting Manager to lead and strengthen its Professional Indemnity renewals function. Following a period of significant change and growth, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a key underwriting area and play an instrumental role in shaping the future direction of the business. This position would suit either an experienced team leader or a technically strong PI underwriter ready to step into a leadership role.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the Professional Indemnity renewals team
  • Manage and retain a profitable PI portfolio across a broad range of sectors
  • Drive underwriting quality, broker engagement, and retention strategy
  • Work closely with senior leadership on portfolio performance and business planning
  • Support and mentor underwriters across the renewals function
  • Contribute to wider strategic growth initiatives across the business

Requirements

  • Strong Professional Indemnity underwriting experience
  • Exposure to property professionals and Design & Construction risks would be particularly attractive
  • Excellent broker management and relationship-building skills
  • Leadership or mentoring capability preferred but not essential
  • Commercial and technically confident approach to underwriting
