Job Description:

BSC is currently seeking a Remote Sensing Technician to support our Geomatics team. This role focuses on spatial data processing, point cloud analysis, and production of professional survey and mapping deliverables for projects across New England, with periodic field data collection to support remote sensing workflows. The position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently under aggressive project schedules.

Job Responsibility:

Requirements:

  • Fundamental understanding of remote sensing workflows including LiDAR, photogrammetry, and GNSS (RTK preferred)
  • Understanding of spatial data accuracy, control, and QA/QC procedures for remote sensing deliverables
  • Experience working with or extracting data from 3D point clouds
  • Ability to process spatial data and learn new software efficiently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues
  • Basic understanding of data organization, file management, and version control for project deliverables
  • Ability to perform field work, including carrying equipment and working outdoors in varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with reliable internet connectivity
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
  • Bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Geography, Engineering, or a related field, with approximately 1–3 years of experience in a project-based technical environment (or equivalent practical experience)

Nice to have:

  • Point cloud and photogrammetry software such as Register 360, ReCap, Pix4D Mapper and PIX4D Survey, Global Mapper, DJI Terra
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • 3D modeling environments such as Revit
  • Planning and executing sUAS missions
  • Familiarity with GNSS / RTK workflows, with experience using Leica systems preferred
  • Willingness to occasionally support projects requiring overnight travel (typically 2–3 times per year)
