Job Description

Make your mark at Boskalis Subsea Services as a Remote Operations IT Communications Specialist based in Aberdeen. You will report directly to the Head of Remote Operations and be responsible for providing dedicated IT support to the Remote Operations Centre. The role ensures that all ROC IT systems, interfaces, and equipment are robust, secure, reliable, and up to date, supporting uninterrupted remote operations. This includes day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, system maintenance, upgrades, and coordination with internal IT teams, vendors, and offshore operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of ROC IT equipment and systems
  • Act as the focal point for monitoring and maintenance of ROC IT infrastructure
  • Gain and maintain an understanding of the end-to-end architecture of the ROC systems from ROC to the remote vessels and/or worksites
  • Monitor system performance and equipment health
  • Plan and execute system updates, patches, and upgrades to avoid interruption to ROC operations
  • Report, track, and follow up equipment issues with vendors and suppliers
  • Liaise with HQ IT, central IT, and internal support teams where required
  • Provide IT support to offshore operations and hardware where required
  • Support secure and reliable connectivity between the ROC and vessels (Boka fleet) or offshore sites
  • Ensure ROC systems comply with Boskalis IT and cybersecurity standards
  • Support access control, system security, and incident reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-8 years IT experience in a Marine environment
  • Experience working within the Subsea Sector of the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Working knowledge of Remote Operations, Control Room, or operational IT environments is considered an advantage
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and objectives to a high level in a fast paced and changing environment
  • High attention to detail and ability to show flexibility during busy periods
