Job Description:

We are looking for a Remote Litigation Paralegal to provide contract-based support for a busy litigation practice in Hamilton Square, New Jersey. This Contract position is best suited for someone who can step into active matters with minimal direction and produce accurate work across real estate and related civil litigation files. The assignment flow may vary from week to week, but when work is available, it will involve recurring litigation tasks that require strong organization, sound judgment, and the ability to move matters forward efficiently.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare litigation documents for matters involving real estate disputes, collections, and landlord-tenant proceedings, ensuring filings are complete and organized
  • Draft and assemble pleadings, motion materials, and supporting case documents under attorney direction for active civil litigation matters
  • Manage discovery-related tasks, including preparing requests, organizing responses, and tracking deadlines for collection and litigation cases
  • Coordinate materials for eviction actions and collection complaints, helping move files from intake through filing readiness
  • Produce routine client and case communications such as collection correspondence and default-related notices with close attention to detail
  • Maintain case information within case management systems and keep litigation files current, accessible, and properly documented
  • Support trial and hearing preparation by gathering exhibits, organizing records, and preparing case materials for attorney review
  • Handle assignment-based overflow work promptly and accurately, adapting to fluctuating case volume while maintaining quality standards

Requirements:

  • Prior paralegal experience in civil litigation with the ability to contribute effectively without extensive training
  • Working knowledge of motions practice, discovery procedures, and litigation document preparation
  • Experience supporting matters involving real estate litigation, commercial lease disputes, collections, or evictions is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with case management software and the ability to keep files, deadlines, and supporting records well organized
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, accurate legal correspondence and case documents
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while following attorney guidance and meeting assignment deadlines
  • Flexibility to accommodate a sporadic workload and shift quickly between matters as new assignments arise
What we offer:
  • Medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance
  • Company 401(k) plan
