Job Description

Justteachers is working in partnership with an inclusive secondary school in Doncaster to recruit a passionate and dedicated Religious Education Teacher, starting in April 2026. This is a full-time, long-term role that offers strong stability for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent for the right candidate. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and commitment to supporting students’ personal and academic development.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver engaging and accessible RE lessons that support learners of all abilities
  • Teach Religious Education across KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities to teach KS5 where suitable
  • Promote students’ Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development through an inclusive and reflective curriculum
  • Foster a respectful and positive classroom environment that encourages thoughtful discussion and different perspectives
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback in line with school policies
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental development and wider school initiatives
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and academic achievement
  • Participate in ongoing CPD and support enrichment or extracurricular opportunities within RE or the humanities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification
  • A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject
  • Experience teaching RE within a UK secondary school environment
  • A strong understanding of the national RE curriculum and delivering it in diverse classrooms
  • Confident communication skills and effective classroom management
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for continuous professional development
