Job Responsibility
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-impact, engaging Religious Studies and Philosophy lessons that challenge and motivate pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE)
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, open discussion, and empathy regarding world religions, morals, and contemporary ethics
Regularly assess, track, and report on student progress, implementing effective interventions to ensure all learners achieve their full potential
Work closely with a supportive Humanities department to share resources, contribute to curriculum planning, and participate in departmental meetings
Undertake form tutor responsibilities and contribute positively to the wider life of the school community
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Religious Education / Religious Studies or Humanities
Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching R.E. across all secondary age groups and ability levels
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Excellent classroom management skills with a positive, proactive approach to student engagement
A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to undergo a new application)
