Job Description:

Housekeepers are responsible to provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust. Ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery. You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility:

Provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust
Ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery

Requirements:

Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (to be completed within 12 months)
Numeracy and Literacy to level 2
ITQ Level 2
Experience in use of cleaning materials and equipment
Experience in general cleaning duties
Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health or learning disabilities environment
Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH
Knowledge of National Standard of Cleanliness
Knowledge of deep-cleaning procedures
Knowledge of Patient-Lead Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE)
Good understanding of confidentiality
Able to follow protocols and instructions
Able to demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail in all tasks
Safe, efficient and effective techniques in the following areas, producing consistently high standards: Cleaning
Deep cleaning
Use of motorised cleaning equipment e.g. floor scrubber, carpet cleaner
Use of kitchen equipment
Preparation and serving of food
Use and cleaning of regeneration ovens
Washing and ironing
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Time management and ability to prioritise effectively
Breakaway techniques
Right to Work in the UK

Nice to have:

NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping (within agreed timescale)
Experience cleaning in a hospital environment
Catering and food service experience
