This Reliability Technician’s primary objective is to help lead the planning of maintenance resources to ensure safe and efficient execution of all scheduled maintenance work, thus keeping plant equipment in condition to deliver full design capacity and reliability, optimizing assets profitability for the life of the organization. This incumbent will support purchasing, scheduling, warehouse management and assist in performing maintenance repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to assess priorities and urgency of maintenance orders
Assist in the Development and maintenance of the daily/weekly maintenance schedules and procurement of necessary goods and services
Plan, schedule and coordinate daily maintenance work and corrective, preventive maintenance activities to meet short term objectives with optimum efficiency
Work with plant management to continuously upgrade PMs and tasks
Possess knowledge of the CMMS System to ensure that work orders and checklists are completed accurately
Assist with purchasing function of parts to perform needed repairs and maintenance
Ensure CMMS software data files are complete and current, including equipment tables and equipment BOM’s
Assist the Maintenance Manager with developing budget and CAPEX plans for future years
Work with Purchasing to bid and procure parts for major outages
Develop cost estimates for major jobs and track actual vs. budgeted spending for major jobs and outages
Support the Warehouse Supervisor in the development and implementation of warehouse and inventory system
Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor to manage spare parts and consumables inventory, including organization of the warehouse and issuing/receiving parts
Follow spares management best practices
Assist in performing inspections, repairs, and rebuilds on all plant operating equipment as needed
Assist in emergency repairs which include call-ins and unscheduled work
Assist in developing and perform preventative maintenance tasks on all plant systems including inspections and lubrication
Able to utilize equipment manuals, parts lists, or blueprints to properly repair, install, or order parts
Ensure maintenance tools are kept in good condition, repaired, or replaced when necessary
Foster continuous improvement on equipment with maintenance team
Perform all assigned work adhering to company and governmental safety rules and regulations
Attend scheduled safety meetings
Enforce all applicable safety policies
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Promote safety among co-workers
Participate in Behavior Based Safety program
Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations always
Complete and document Workplace Inspections in a timely manner
Utilize vendor and company offered training to improve skills in necessary areas
Train maintenance team on inventory control processes as developed
Train on any new equipment installations
Assist in development, implementation, and continuing support of condition-based monitoring systems and programs
Identify, analyze and review maintenance problems with management
Support maintenance team in reliability programs including but not limited to RCFA, ECA, FMEA, MTBF and MTTR metrics, and other key performance indicators
Ensure a SQF workplace and follow regulatory compliance with Federal FDA – Food Modernization Safety Act (CFR Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, Part 507)
Support Environmental Health and Safety, as well as SQF initiatives and awareness programs
Be a leader and promoter of employee safety and SQF culture
Following completion of SQF training, demonstrate understanding of expected safety, SQF performance and Food Safety Culture
Complete periodic SQF training(s)
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Associate’s degree in Technical field and/or equivalent experience in industrial/maintenance background
Possesses Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes
Must have a telephone and be open to callouts
Good understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meet all required deadlines with excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and SAP strongly preferred
Must be physically able to perform work assigned
Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations
Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust
Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
Ability to consistently lift over 75 pounds as needed
Nice to have:
Technical degree/certificate in mechanical, electrical, or related field is preferred
Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background
Knowledge of budget process is preferred
