Join our Maintenance Section in this technical role as a Reliability Specialist at our Forrestfield depot, supporting our large and diverse Locomotive & Wagon fleet.
Job Responsibility
Using your extensive technical experience, you will analyse failure trends, undertake investigations, review maintenance activities, and make recommendations with the goal of making our Locomotive & Wagon fleets more reliable
Work with relevant teams to ensure all asset classes and components always maintain 100% compliance with the safety management system (SMS) and approved system of maintenance
Undertake front line (area) Locomotive & Wagon top five fault finding and rogue component management
Work with relevant teams in setting fleet availability and reliability targets by vehicle class by operating corridor/system
Undertake Root Cause Analysis Investigations for Locomotive & Wagon failures, and make recommendations for system improvements
Work with relevant teams to evaluate and optimise maintenance inspection intervals and work package content, reducing maintenance time and increasing availability
In association with Technical Reliability, develop Rollingstock & Rollingstock component statistical reliability models and trouble-shooting trees
Work with Planning teams and Leadership to ensure the existence of one maintenance plan, that all stakeholders plan, schedule and execute against that plan
Requirements
Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification desirable with extensive experience in heavy industry
High level of research, development, conceptual and analytical skills to define the problem, improve work practices, and analyse data in a rollingstock maintenance environment
Engineering degree
or Trade certificate Mechanical or Electrical with heavy industrial experience
High level of skill in coaching and developing a skilled work team
Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including drawing up technical quality procedures and instructions
Project management skills to plan, resource and implement commercially effective rollingstock programs
Substantial knowledge of the maintenance, servicing, and repair of rollingstock and associated equipment in depots and workshops
Substantial skills in carrying out performance tests on rolling stock and associated equipment
