The Reliability / Maintenance Engineering Intern will support the maintenance and reliability teams in improving overall asset reliability and optimizing preventative maintenance (PM) programs. This role is ideal for students interested in maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, or industrial operations. You’ll be directly involved in analyzing equipment failures, improving PM standards, and supporting backlog cleanup to help strengthen Atlas Energy’s long‑term maintenance strategy.
Job Responsibility:
Optimize and refine preventative maintenance (PM) tasks to improve efficiency and asset performance
Track and analyze repeat equipment failures to identify root causes and patterns
Support maintenance backlog cleanup, including work order review and prioritization
Conduct MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) analysis to support reliability decisions
Collaborate with maintenance technicians and reliability engineers to validate findings and improvement opportunities
Assist in standardizing reliability practices across Atlas Energy assets and locations
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
Interest in equipment reliability, maintenance systems, and industrial operations
Familiarity with Excel
Ability to work in both field and shop environments
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Nice to have:
Exposure to CMMS systems or reliability tools is a plus
