The Reliability Engineering Intern is a role that will support the initiatives for the refinery with a heavy focus on mechanical integrity & inspection, with a portion of this position performed in the field. This position will learn how to track, monitor, and justify projects which will result in creating sound training experience.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain safe, clean, and orderly working environment by complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations
Troubleshoot equipment and determine root cause and take corrective action to resolve system failures
Participate in technical investigations, design, and analysis of the performance of the various equipment to identify deficiencies, antiquation, and the potential for benefits and improvements working with experienced and knowledgeable fellow engineers
Develops, selects, and tests equipment and their components to evaluate/select best in class and technology systems
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and fellow engineers on equipment problem solving through root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and effective solutions to prevent root cause
Oversee the equipment such as mechanical and/or instrumentation to generate critical equipment list, update P&ID’s, and equipment specifications
Plan, design, and write specifications for process equipment
Ability to successfully work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team seeking to continuously improve supply chain performance and customer satisfaction
Create and prepare reports, type documents, and file
All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00
Availability to work at least twenty (40) hours a week and OT as needed
Basic knowledge of industrial equipment
Familiarity with SDS and safety protocols in a mechanical environment
Proven ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision
Ability to record and present data in a clear and concise manner
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Solid software application skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Good organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Willingness and desire for continual learning and self-development.
