Peabody is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join the maintenance and engineering team at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Reporting to the Reliability Manager, this role plays a key part in improving asset performance, availability and life‑cycle outcomes across underground and surface assets. You will work closely with Maintenance, Operations and Engineering teams to embed reliability practices that support safe and productive operations.
Job Responsibility:
Support and implement site asset reliability strategies across underground and surface equipment
Conduct reliability analysis including RCA, FMEA, RCM and bad‑actor investigations
Develop and optimise maintenance strategies, task lists and condition monitoring programs
Analyse SAP/CMMS data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
Assist with criticality assessments, spares optimisation and lifecycle cost analysis
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability KPI reporting
Promote a strong safety and reliability culture aligned with site standards and statutory requirements
Requirements:
Degree qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or similar discipline
Experience in reliability, maintenance or asset engineering within mining or heavy industry
Working knowledge of reliability tools such as RCA, FMEA, RCM and condition monitoring techniques
Experience using SAP or similar CMMS systems
Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable outcomes
A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety and continuous improvement
