The Client Relationship Management role supports the Relationship Director in developing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of corporate clients, primarily operating in the Consumer sector, by identifying and addressing both current and future customer needs. The role also focuses on identifying product and service opportunities, conducting customer research, performing financial and credit analysis, and supporting meeting preparation. Key responsibilities include co-ordinating credit applications and renewals, as well as managing risk escalation.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Relationship Director to maximise the value of client relationships, strengthen client engagement, and deliver needs-based solutions and fair customer outcomes, working closely with Group colleagues and product partners
Contribute to business development by identifying suitable target clients, attending meetings, and coordinating responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
Enable proactive client management by attending client meetings with the Relationship Director and, where appropriate, independently or alongside product partners, act as a key point of contact for customers
Complete financial, credit, and profitability analysis, and prepare high-quality credit submissions for existing and prospective facilities
Provide day-to-day support across client planning, pipeline management, and coordination with product partners, ensuring client data and call reports are accurate and updated on time
Monitor and manage credit risk by reviewing concern lists and credit control reports and analysing relevant management information (MI)
Ensure compliance with Group Policy and all regulatory, financial, and legal requirements, minimising business and reputational risk through ongoing monitoring and timely escalation where required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, with 5–8 years’ experience in a financial institution (credit experience preferred)
Strong understanding of the financial and commercial drivers that inform strategic decision-making
Knowledge of the Bank’s structure, products and services (advantageous but not essential)
Solid grasp of risk management disciplines and associated processes
Proven credit assessment capability, with strong credit writing skills
Awareness of evolving economic, social and regulatory conditions
Demonstrated success in a client-focused environment, with the ability to build internal and external relationships and collaborate effectively
