Job Description:

The company looking for a senior actuary for this newly created role within the new Commercial Pricing team, part of the wider Actuarial Team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for deal level case pricing for the Casualty Treaty division, particularly material and complex deals
  • Providing SME class and market knowledge to supplement and challenge Underwriters, and peer-review other actuaries' pricing
  • Embedded day-to-day sat within in the Casualty Treaty division team in Portfolio Underwriting Team within the Company, working side by side with the Underwriters to enhance the commercial and strategic approach using creative actuarial insight and innovative solutions – ultimately creating commercial value
  • Supporting the Portfolio Underwriting team in external meetings and communication with brokers and clients
  • Mentor and support the management and development of more junior members of the team

Requirements:

  • Qualified Actuary (FIA, FFA or equivalent)
  • Obtained a relevant, numerate degree with a good overall grade
  • Subject matter expert knowledge in the Casualty Treaty classes, with a number of years experience working within the class within the Lloyd's/company markets
  • Experience of managing a small team of actuaries/analysts/students and prioritising others' workloads
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular an advanced/intermediate level of MS Excel, SQL and Python, with experience in other coding languages welcome in addition. Must have an appetite to continue to develop in Python
