We are looking for an ambitious, hands on, qualified Accountant to support the Group Reinsurance team. This is a great opportunity to gain or extend your knowledge of the Group’s insurance businesses, be involved in key financial analysis, develop technical expertise and build relationships with senior management across Admiral Group, external advisors and reinsurers. Based in Admiral’s Group Finance Team and reporting to the Group Head of Reinsurance, this role will work with the reinsurance team in preparing financial analysis and key presentations to internal and external stakeholders in relation to reinsurance placements for the Group’s UK businesses.
Job Responsibility:
Developing a good understanding of Admiral’s UK Insurance businesses and a strong working relationship with managers and SMEs across the Group
Taking a leading role in the preparation of key presentations required by brokers and reinsurers during the annual renewal processes
Working with local finance teams to model Admiral’s exposure and the potential impacts of different reinsurance structures
Project-managing the annual non-proportional reinsurance placements
Coordinating update meetings with reinsurers and brokers
Assisting in the preparation and presentation of updates to relevant Board committees
Ensure that Admiral and its brokers comply with the contractual SLAs
Assisting the Head of Reinsurance and AIGL team to ensure compliance with the controls stipulated in the Group Reinsurance Policy
Supporting colleagues with relevant ad hoc projects
Requirements:
Qualified accountant with strong academic background
approx. 3-5 years PQE experience
strong numeracy and analytical skills
commercial outlook
experience of producing detailed financial analysis and Board-style reporting to senior stakeholders would be beneficial
excellent interpersonal skills
ability to build strong working relationships
strong organisational skills
ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables
strong Microsoft Excel skills
proficiency in using MS Word and PowerPoint
experience in Financial Services (insurance sector preferred)
