Job Description:

This role works closely with underwriting, actuarial, finance, and external reinsurance partners to maintain data integrity, support financial reporting, and improve reinsurance operational processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and analyze reinsurance data related to ceded premiums, losses, recoverables, and commissions in accordance with reinsurance agreements
  • Prepare and review reinsurance bordereaux, statements, and supporting schedules for reinsurers and brokers
  • Reconcile reinsurance balances, including recoverables, payables, and cash settlements, and investigate discrepancies
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes related to reinsurance accounting under GAAP and/or statutory accounting standards
  • Assist in calculating reinsurance accruals, funding requirements, and profit‑sharing or sliding‑scale commission arrangements, where applicable
  • Coordinate with underwriting, actuarial, and finance teams to ensure accurate data flow and alignment between policy, claims, and reinsurance systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in reinsurance, insurance accounting, or financial analysis within the insurance industry
  • Working knowledge of reinsurance structures and insurance accounting concepts
  • Familiarity with GAAP and/or statutory (STAT) insurance accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
