Dynamic, inpatient opportunity at New Mexico's only Level 1 trauma center and the state's premier teaching hospital. You will work with a group of highly skilled acute inpatient occupational and physical therapists performing clerical work, maintenance tasks, and assisting with patient care. Job Responsibility:
Assist physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, and speech-language pathologists with therapy services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups
Perform clerical work (40%)
Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning and monitoring temperature logs for compliance (40%)
Assist with patient care (20%)
Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
Assist in the collection and documentation of patient information
Utilize multiple computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Cerner EMR, and TigerConnect
Order equipment and supplies
Help maintain safe and cleanly environment
Communicate with extradepartmental personnel
Maintain clinic cleaning and temperature logs
Provide information and assistance to internal and external customers
Enter requested data into computers
Maintain a sanitary work area
Assist in care and maintenance of department facilities
Occasionally staff the front desk
Train new employees in departmental procedures
Demonstrate competence in patient care delivery
Take and/or record vital signs
Assist with inventory management
Attend in-service educational programs
Prepare and deliver daily inpatient census
Assist in splinting patients under supervision
Make work assignments for team as required
Manage patient lines safely during treatment sessions
Requirements:
High School or GED Equivalent
No minimum experience required
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
Nice to have:
1 year directly related experience
