We are hiring for a Rehab Supervisor. These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Skills and duties may vary dependent upon your department or unit. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Job Responsibility:
Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills
Provides effective leadership to staff
Holds regular meetings, as needed, for smooth running of service
Serves as an effective communicator of the staff’s vision and goals
Provides staff with information to help with patient care, organization, and coordination of assignments
Works effectively with others in the management team to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems
Skillfully administers, directs and allocates organizational resources, including reassignment of staff
Stays focused on key stakeholders and supports the staff’s ability to deliver on all valid stakeholder expectations
Reacts appropriately under high levels of stress
Supervises and conducts or provides input for performance evaluation of staff clinicians, technicians and students
Assists with new staff on-boarding, orientation and competencies, as well as annual competencies
Participates in staff and committee meetings including providing input and information
Assists with development and timely updates of policies and procedures for the department
Relays information to the manager in an accurate, organized and timely fashion
Follows through with delegated assignments
Shows problem solving abilities and knowledge of directing and delegating duties/requests to appropriate personnel
Provides in-services, lectures and presentations, as needed, to internal departments, professionals and public in the community
Assists with interviewing new staff/recruitment
Aids in orientation of new and rotating employees and students
Demonstrates rapport and professionalism with visitors, patients and families
As appropriate for position, performs direct patient care including: Evaluating patients and uses appropriate techniques with consideration of all patient physical, psychosocial, developmental/maturation status and cultural needs
Developing and implementing a treatment program using appropriate problem solving and skills including reviewing and revising programs as indicated
Communicating with physicians and other health care workers concerning patient status, ability to progress and needs for continued services
Documenting evaluation, progress and discharge summaries, home programs and other forms for intra/extra agency personnel as indicated
Other activities as needed for professional and departmental growth
participation in local/state organizations, program development, marketing, hospital committees
Conducts staff meetings and represents department in absence of department manager
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
Requirements:
4 or more years experience as a clinician and preferred experience in specialty area
Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - State Department for Aging and Disability Services (Health Occupations Credentialing) OR Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - State Board of Healing Arts OR Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) - State Board of Healing Arts
