This position could work any hours between 6:30 am and 6 pm, Monday - Friday. The position would most often be used at our main site in Marinette, but could be asked to cover in Crivitz or Stephenson Physical Therapy clinics if needed. Part time. Hours Per Week: 0. Benefits Eligible: No.
Job Responsibility:
Transports patients to and from rehabilitation area using standard precautions
Performs treatment modalities including but not limited to hydrocollator packs, ultrasound, and paraffin
Assists patients with toileting, ambulation or unskilled exercises as delegated
Provides hydrotherapy treatment as directed by a therapist including scheduling, patient transfers, treatment clean up
Cleans hydro area, modality equipment, hydrocollator pack machine, hydrotherapy equipment, paraffin unit and exercise equipment
Orders and dispenses clean linen throughout area
Empties hampers and changes linen in the treatment areas
Orders and stocks supplies, including cleaning solutions
Maintains clean and safe work equipment and storage areas
Performs miscellaneous clerical and delegated duties as assigned
This may include entering charges, answering telephones, taking patient orders, filing patient charts, assisting with prior authorization paperwork, and discharging
Performs various patient positioning, transferring and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures
Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required
High School Graduate
No experience required
Must have good communication skills
Ability to relate to people of all age groups
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
Lift up to 20 lbs. over the head
Carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance
push/pull with 30 lbs. of force
Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
Position requires repetitive use of hands: simple grasping - 5-15 lbs. - 20% of the workday
Pushing/pulling - up to 75-100 lbs. - 10% of the day
Fine manipulation of hands
Must have functional use of senses to allow for effective communication
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
