The Regulatory Graduate Programme at The HCPC is your gateway to an exciting and impactful career in professional regulation. The Regulatory Graduate plays a vital role in supporting The HCPC's core regulatory functions. Over the course of 24 months, you will rotate through four core regulatory department, Fitness to Practise, Policy, Registration, and Education, gaining hands-on experience and comprehensive professional development to build your expertise and prepare you for a successful career in healthcare regulation. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will be well-placed to seek opportunities within the HCPC or beyond, continuing to grow and make an impact protecting the public and maintaining confidence in healthcare professionals.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the investigation of fitness to practise cases, ensuring compliance with procedural timelines and regulatory requirements
Conducting research on emerging regulatory issues, supporting the development of regulatory standards and guidance documents, and contributing to cross-departmental policy projects and consultations
Processing and assessing registration applications, responding to enquiries from applicants and registrants, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the professional register
Reviewing education provider submissions for programme approval and supporting quality assurance processes
Partnering with colleagues across departments to support cross-functional projects, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and delivering against key performance measures according to legislative and statutory timescales
Requirements:
Demonstrable interest in healthcare regulation, governance and professional standards, with a commitment to public protection
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory or technical information clearly to diverse audiences
Collaborative team player with a proactive, positive and adaptable approach to work and change
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, including sound judgement in ambiguous situations
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Innovative and intellectually curious, with a commitment to continuous professional development
Relevant internship, project or sector experience in healthcare, legal or regulatory environments (desirable but not essential)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
