The Regulation function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the delivery of Market Operations, Market Development, implementation of EU Energy Market Regulations and Directives and both EU and Irish policy initiatives, as well as the strategy to deal with ongoing Regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Wholesale Market Manager, the Regulatory Analyst will co-ordinate interactions with all Regulatory Authorities and will ensure consultation responses and both internal and external regulatory reporting commitments are delivered.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the company’s interactions with the Regulatory Authorities in ROI, NI and GB (CRU, UR and Ofgem)
Assist in the development and maintenance of the gas contractual framework in ROI, NI and GB
Assisting the Licence Compliance Manager when required in relation to all Compliance matters
Co-ordinate consultation responses, both ROI and NI
Co-ordinate internal and external reporting commitments as required
Manage GNI’s lobbying returns process
Responsible for data/file management, leveraging the Regulatory Affairs Teams channel
Represent Regulatory Affairs at external meetings or events
Developing relations and working closely with the wider teams within Regulatory Framework on key regulatory initiatives
Coordinate the delivery of GNI’s biennial Licence Compliance Training
Lead and deliver on Regulatory projects as may be assigned
Requirements:
Relevant qualification in Engineering, Law or Business with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to create and develop good working relationships
Results focused with a track record of getting results through others
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Previous experience with initiating and maintaining strategic relationships both internally and externally
A good understanding of business operations and the commercial viability and impact of regulatory decisions
Driver of high standards for individual, team and organisational accomplishment
Proven track record of dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion
Irish and European gas industry knowledge and previous experience working within a regulatory environment will be an advantage
Interest in developing a knowledge and understanding the nature of the regulatory environment and key stakeholders such as CRU, UR, Ofgem etc.
