A supportive and inclusive SEND provision in Grantham is seeking a dedicated Regulation Tutor to work with children and young people across a range of ages. The setting focuses on supporting learners to develop emotional regulation, resilience, and engagement with learning, alongside building their academic skills, independence, and confidence. Learning is tailored to individual needs through structured routines, adapted approaches, and a calm, nurturing environment. This role starts in September, full-time, with the view of being permanent.
Job Responsibility
Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support, focusing on helping pupils regulate their emotions and access learning effectively
Adapt activities and break down tasks to ensure they are accessible, supporting pupils to engage at their own pace
Use consistent, supportive strategies—such as visual aids, clear instructions, modelling, and structured routines—to promote focus and participation
Support pupils in managing behaviours linked to dysregulation, offering calm guidance and helping them re-engage with learning
Work collaboratively with staff to reinforce key learning outcomes and support pupils’ overall development
Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people in education, tutoring, care, or similar settings, particularly those with additional needs
Understanding of SEND and how to support pupils with emotional regulation and barriers to learning
Ability to use a range of approaches to engage learners, including clear explanations, modelling, and structured support strategies
