As our Registrar, you will be the frontline representative for patient admissions, ensuring a streamlined and efficient intake process. You will play a critical role in facilitating accurate demographic and insurance information collection, vital for timely and appropriate reimbursement. Every day you will register and pre-register patients, minimizing wait times and ensuring all required documents and signatures are obtained. You will meticulously verify insurance eligibility and benefits, process co-payments, and provide detailed notes in the computer system for all payer-related and patient communications.
Job Responsibility

Obtain accurate and complete patient information for the registration process
Complete medical record requests within department guidelines
Provide adequate notes in computer system by documenting all payer related information, patient issues, physician office communications and any account related communication
Ensure correct forms are filled out and signed for each registration, payer-related forms, COA, Medicare notification letters
Ensure that patient handouts are being given out and explained (i.e.: Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Directives, Financial Assistance, etc.)
Requirements
High School graduate or GED
Previous experience in a clerical setting
Typing speed 30 wpm
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Computer skills
Nice to have
Minimum of one (1) year experience in prior authorization precertification insurance benefits and how they apply to hospital registration or medical office setting
Medical terminology
Previous experience with an EMR
Cerner
Current BLS certification
