The University Registrar at Victoria University (VU) – India Campus will lead and oversee all academic administration and governance functions, ensuring compliance with both Victoria University, Melbourne standards and applicable Indian regulatory frameworks. The Registrar will safeguard the integrity of academic records, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver seamless student lifecycle services—from admission and enrolment through graduation and alumni records management. This role plays a pivotal part in aligning Victoria University India’s operations with VU Melbourne’s academic governance, quality assurance frameworks, and global education strategy, while delivering an outstanding student experience within a transnational education environment.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee enrolment, registration, grading, transcripts, graduation, and alumni records
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student data across all systems
Manage academic calendars, examination timetables, and cross-campus program coordination
Coordinate graduation ceremonies and issuance of official academic documents
Ensure compliance with Victoria University (Melbourne) policies and governance frameworks
Ensure adherence to Australian Higher Education Standards Framework and Indian regulatory requirements (UGC, AICTE, NEP guidelines, where applicable)
Act as the primary liaison with accreditation bodies and regulatory authorities
Maintain institutional compliance documentation and reporting for audits and quality reviews
Develop and implement academic and administrative policies including: Dual-award agreements, Credit transfer frameworks, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) processes
Oversee Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and institutional reporting frameworks
Ensure strong data governance, cybersecurity compliance, and privacy protection standards
Oversee academic appeals, misconduct processes, and grievance resolution
Provide guidance to students and academic staff on academic policies and procedures
Ensure fair, transparent, and timely resolution of academic matters
Build and lead a high-performing academic administration team
Foster a culture of service excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement
Deliver exceptional student services within a multicultural, globally aligned environment
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Law, Business, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior academic administration or Registrar roles, preferably in multi-campus or international higher education environments
Strong understanding of: Australian higher education regulatory frameworks, Indian higher education regulations (UGC, AICTE), Accreditation and quality assurance processes
Experience in transnational education (TNE) models preferred
Proficiency in student systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, or equivalent), data governance, and reporting tools
Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement capabilities
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ethical, culturally sensitive, and committed to student-centric service delivery
Nice to have:
Experience in transnational education (TNE) models preferred
