Job Description:

We are wokring on behlaf of Monmouthshire County council and are seeking an experienced Registered Social Worker to join them in a key support-focused role within their friendly and supportive Children’s Services team This position is ideal for a confident practitioner with strong court and child protection experience who enjoys supporting colleagues and maintaining high practice standards. This role combines a small complex caseload with quality assurance and duty support responsibilities. You will play an important part in strengthening practice across the team by supporting less experienced social workers and helping maintain high-quality documentation and decision-making.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting with QA of key documents including safety plans, assessments, and reports
  • Attending meetings such as Child Protection Conferences to support less experienced social workers where needed
  • Overseeing a small caseload of complex cases during a colleague’s sickness period
  • Providing practical, day-to-day support and guidance to team members
  • Being office-based at least 3 days per week to assist with duty tasks and team support

Requirements:

  • Qualified and Registered Social Worker
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualifying experience in Children’s Services
  • Recent and proven court work experience
  • Strong background in Child Protection work
  • Able to live and work within 1 hour of NP15 1GA
  • Confident reviewing and quality-assuring social work documentation
  • Able to support and guide less experienced practitioners
