Job Responsibility

  • New Client Assessments: Prepare for assessments using referrals and questionnaires
  • Conduct standardised and informal assessments (e.g., WPPSI, WISC, WRAT, WRAML, ADOS, MIGDAS)
  • Provide timely feedback to clients and families and confirm therapy needs
  • Complete and issue reports within two weeks of assessment
  • Therapy Service Delivery: Deliver client-centred assessment, counselling, and therapy
  • Manage discipline-specific caseloads, including complex clients
  • Develop, implement, review, and adjust individualised therapy programs
  • Deliver services across clinic, home, school, and community settings
  • Collaborate with allied health professionals and develop specialised programs
  • Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and evidence-based practice
  • Therapy Programs: Conduct initial appointments and develop goal-based therapy plans
  • Create measurable, targeted interventions and session plans
  • Provide home and school-based activities and resources
  • Monitor progress, update goals, and complete reviews and reports
  • Identify and refer to other disciplines or group programs as appropriate
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete clinical notes within 24 hours
  • Provide timely, compliant reports to stakeholders and funding bodies
  • Record incidents and complaints as required
  • Funding, Professional Development & Compliance: Align therapy plans with available funding (e.g. NDIS)
  • Participate in supervision, meetings, and ongoing professional development
  • Comply with registration standards, organisational policies, WHS, and child safety requirements

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Psychology
  • Registration with AHPRA and Registration with Psychology Board of Australia
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Current Drivers' Licence and vehicle
  • Current Working with Children Check or Working with Vulnerable People Registration (state specific)
  • National Police Check
  • Accredited First Aid Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in solution-focused therapy and early intervention
  • Understanding and supporting the principles of individualised services including the ability to adapt services to meet individual needs
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with a range of children and families and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Exceptional observational and report writing skills
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and the ability to work autonomously in the community
