Job Description:

Join team Sinai's Internal Pool program. Internal Pool RNs float to three units at Aurora Sinai. These units include: Med surg/ortho, ACE/Stroke, Cardiac Medical Telemetry and ED boarding. Part time or Full time Opportunity – Nights, 1900-0730 or 2300-0730. 24hrs or 36 hrs a week, Weekend rotation, Holiday requirements – 1 summer and 1 winter holiday required.

Job Responsibility:

Uses the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate plan of care
Anticipates and recognizes significant changes in patient condition
Implements strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety
Actively coordinates the discharge plan
Applies evidence-based practice
Provides ongoing evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes
Demonstrates effective communication and promotes collaboration
Assumes a leadership role and delegates appropriately
Promotes a culture of safety and reports safety events
Applies ethical decision making
Participates in quality/process improvement initiatives
Participates in professional activities for development
Provides age-appropriate care

Requirements:

Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of experience required
Demonstrates progression to provide holistic patient care
Demonstrates progression to recognize situational changes
Proficient computer skills
Excellent communication (written and verbal), listening and interpersonal skills
Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively
Demonstrated ability to effectively make critical, independent decisions
Excellent organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills
Demonstrates time management skills
Demonstrates coordination, collaboration, delegation and team building skills
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, twist frequently
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. over the head
Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force
Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch
