Job Responsibility:

  • Uses skills of observation, assessment and nursing diagnosis deliver high quality nursing care with compassion, excellence and reliability to clients and their families in their own home or in facility
  • Ensures that client’s emotional, physical comfort and safety are of their top priority and in accordance with company policies and procedures and Standards of Nursing Practice
  • Participates in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities
  • Provides support and direction to Licensed/Registered Practical Nurses and paraprofessional staff members involved in direct client care visits
  • Works directly with members of both the English and French communities

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and current registration with the provincial licensing body
  • Valid CPR certification is obligatory
  • At least two years of recent experience, preferably in a community setting
  • Have either a reliable mode of transportation (bus, train, etc) OR a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for commuting
  • A clear police criminal record and able to get a Vulnerable Sector Screening if required

  • Perform therapeutic, preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures as directed by the attending physician
  • Perform clinical pronouncement of death and provide support to family, as applicable to licensure
  • Maintain accurate patient records, charts, progress notes, reports and prepare care plans timely
