Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool. Scheduled Hours - 7pm to 7am. Float to Med Surge Tele and Emergency Room. Full time. Every Third Weekend. Rotating Holidays. Level 2 Trauma.
Job Responsibility:
Uses the nursing process to assess the needs of the patient, plan and implement interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care
Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum
Mobilizes appropriate resources in response to situations that have the potential to negatively impact patient and family outcomes
Analyzes challenging situations and intervenes as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes
Assesses patient and family readiness to learn, and individualizes the approach as necessary
Initiates referrals and discharge planning and actively coordinates the plan utilizing the interdisciplinary approach
Consistently applies evidence-based practice in patient care
Utilizes knowledge and experience to anticipate and alter the plan of care as needed
Prioritizes and organizes patient care and ensures follow through with planned, interdisciplinary care
Facilitates the patient and family’s right to receive quality, cost effective care
Participates in shared governance activities and initiatives to improve processes and patient outcomes
Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills
Promotes the culture of safety through identifying threats to patient safety and intervening to prevent patient harm

Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation
May be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities
Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Good communication skills
Good computer skills
Good time management and organizational skills
Familiarity with patient care equipment
Current Illinois RN license
Current CPR
Certifications/education required for the nursing specialty
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing
Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
Time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms etc.)
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts
Ability to transport objects, patients, and equipment
Ability to respond quickly to patient needs
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch
Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions
