The Infusion Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care, including patient education and the management of chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy administration. The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family; assesses the needs of the patient undergoing infusion treatment; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; and teaches patients, families, orients colleagues and peers. The RN administers injections, IV hydration, blood products, and chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy.
Job Responsibility:
Delivery of direct patient care, including patient education and the management of chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy administration
Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family
Assesses the needs of the patient undergoing infusion treatment
Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care
Teaches patients, families, orients colleagues and peers
Administers injections, IV hydration, blood products, and chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy
Requirements:
Two (2) years or more of RN experience
Two (2) or more years of recent (in last 3 years) experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy
Two (2) or more years of recent (in the last 3 years) hematology/oncology RN experience
Demonstrated ability to start IVs, access ports and maintain vascular access
Demonstrated ability to practice independently, set goals, promote teamwork, coordinate and perform multiple activities and problem solve
Demonstrated ability to set and implement priorities, organize and delegate effectively and efficiently
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate well with others
Demonstrate abilities in interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and problem-solving skill
Nice to have:
Two (2) or more years of recent (in the last 6 years) Ambulatory Care Infusion Experience
