The Registered Nurse, under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment. The Emergency Department at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is a 46-bed tertiary care facility with an annual volume of nearly 100,000 visits, a dedicated Urgent care area and two Trauma bays. The patient population served ranges from neonates to adolescents with a large number of these patients having high acuity and complex medical conditions.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct patient assessments

Collaborate with other health care team members in the delivery of care
Follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment
Requirements:
1+ year experience as an RN
Pediatric experience preferred
Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment
Knowledge of CHLA patient care policies and procedures
Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care
Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies
Ability to prioritize tasks for complex patient care
Ability to communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing
BSN required
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California
Current American Heart Association CPR certification
